Nadeem Khan appointed as a manager for Multan Sultans

The newly inducted team in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Multan Sultans has appointed former Test cricketer Nadeem Khan as a manager ahead of the upcoming season of the league. Nadeem, the brother of Pakistan’s very famous wicketkeeper-batsman Moin Khan, will be joining the franchise as a manager for the third edition of the competition as per an official of the team.

The third edition is scheduled to take place from the February of next year. The former left-arm orthodox bowler played two Tests for the national team, with one coming against West Indies and his last against arch-rivals India. Nadeem has also been a manager for a couple of franchises before the tournament.

Meanwhile, as Geo.tv reported the franchise is in talks with former Test batsman Mohammad Wasim for the role of a batting coach. The talks to finalise the deal for Mohammad Wasim is ongoing. The 40-year-old would be joining the coaching staff under the tutelage of Australian all-rounder Tom Moody. Wasim has been part of the Pakistani national team for 18 times in Tests while representing Pakistan 25 times in ODI’s between 1996 and 2000.

Moody and Andrew Leipus likely to be part of the franchise

Moody, as recent as in April coached the IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad. The all-rounder was also a contender for the head coach position in Team India before the board finalised on the former Indian all-rounder Ravi Shastri for the same job.

The sources further revealed that former physio of the Indian cricket team Andrew Leipus, who hails from Australia, is also likely to join the PSL team. Andrew is currently working with IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders alongside the likes of Wasim Akram.

Further, the management of Multan Sultans is also in contact with a former South African batsman for the role of assistant coach for the third edition.
