Naseeruddin Shah slams Virat Kohli as the world’s ‘worst-behaved’ player
Kohli is currently playing India's second Test against Australia.
30-year-old Delhi-born cricketer Virat Kohli, also the all-format Indian captain, has been a recipient of severe criticism over the years owing to the way he behaves at times on the cricket field. He is a personality, who doesn’t mind expressing himself freely. He prefers to speak his heart out and voices his opinions, oblivious of what people around him would be thinking about him.
Even in the ongoing Test series against Australia, he has been involved in a few banters on the field. He was also bashed severely by Australian head coach Justin Langer, who mentioned that Kohli shouldn’t have celebrated aggressively after Aaron Finch’s dismissal, during the opening Test in Adelaide. In the meantime, popular Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah also was critical of Virat Kohli.
He took to Facebook and wrote, “Virat K is not only the worlds best batsman but also the worlds worst behaved player. His cricketing brilliance pales beside his arrogance and bad manners.. And I have no intention of leaving the country by the way,”
Here is Naseeruddin Shah’s post
Kohli tremendous with the bat
Apart from the bashing, Shah also agreed that Virat is the best batsman in the world and rightly so, bearing in mind his recent form in all forms of cricket. In the opening match of the four-match series at the popular Adelaide Oval, the experienced campaigner couldn’t quite score big as on both instance, the fast bowlers accounted for his prized wicket.
However, the batsman came into his own in the ongoing Test in Perth. In the first innings, he came to bat after India lost both their openers- KL Rahul and Murali Vijay- at the score of eight. But he weathered the storm and notched his 25th Test century. Nevertheless, he couldn’t repeat his heroics in the second innings and fell prey to Nathan Lyon after scoring 17 with a couple of fours.
