It was not very long ago when Nasir Hossain was an integral part of the Bangladeshi starting eleven. He had settled in the role of the all-rounder in the team. He was very effective with the ball for the team and often chipped in with crucial contributions in the lower order. Needless to say, he was being tipped to be the finisher for the side in limited overs format. However, the fairy tale saw a bump ahead and his fortunes with the national side dwindled.
He is no longer a regular face in the Bangladeshi lineup. But the all-rounder is very confident of staging a comeback sometime soon. As per the recent quotes in bdcrictime.com, Nasir Hossain conceded that he is trying very hard to make a comeback to the national squad. He is confident of making a return.
“I am working really hard. Getting into the team or not – that’s not in my hands. But I am doing my work with full heart. I am very confident that if things continue to go like now, I will be on my way back to the national team for sure,” said Nasir Hossain.
Eyeing the shorter formats
He further noted that his focus is on making a return to the limited overs. He is not thinking a lot about Test cricket at the moment. Bangladesh are scheduled to play Australia in two Test matches next month. Hossain also noted that he is putting in a lot of efforts on his fitness.
“My main focus is now on fitness. When batting-bowling sessions will start, I will shift my concentration on them. But to perform well, good performance helps till 60 percent. So I am trying to be in good shape fitness-wise,” said Hossain.
