In the latest development in the Pakistan fixing case, two men have been arrested for their alleged links in spot-fixing scandal in the ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The National Crime Agency of Britain has arrested two men, for the offence. The top British agency refused to name the two arrested.

But, as per Geo.tv their sources close to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) have revealed that the two men arrested are Nasir Jamshed and a man named Yousuf. While Jamshed is a popular name in the Pakistan cricket circuit, Yousuf is the bookie who is suspected to be the international syndicate in the entire scene.

The National Crime Agency released a press statement wherein they confirmed the same. It mentioned, “Two men in their thirties have been arrested by National Crime Agency officers in connection with bribery offences as part of an ongoing investigation into international cricket match spot-fixing.”

They further added that the arrests were made on February 13 and later were released on bail till April 2017. They also added that the anti-corruption unit of ICC and PCB’s own anti-corruption body have been closely monitoring the case.

“The men were arrested on Monday 13 February and have been released on bail until April 2017 pending further enquiries. As part of the ongoing investigation we are working closely with the Pakistan Cricket Board and International Cricket Council’s anti-corruption units. The Pakistan Cricket Board has launched its own investigation which has resulted in the suspension of three players,” NCA added in their statement.

Interestingly, yesterday the PCB had banned Nasir Jamshed from all forms of the game. However, they did not mention the reason behind it. Now, with this news coming up, things are pretty clear that the ban was an after effect of his involvement in the PSL spot fixing.
