The Pakistan Cricket Board made a shocking revelation regarding the former opening batsman Nasir Jamshed who presently resides in the United Kingdom. Nasir Jamshed was arrested by Britains’s National Crime Agency for spot-fixing in the recent edition of the Pakistan Super League.
The 27-year old left-hander has represented Pakistan in 48 ODIs, piling up 1418 runs at an average of 31.51. He has scored 3 centuries along with 8 half-centuries. Jamshed also represented for Pakistan in the other two formats of the game.
Although, lately Nasir Jamshed has attracted limelight for all the wrong reasons. The chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board made a serious allegation against the former opening batsman that the latter has been dodging phone calls and changing his address in United Kingdom to avoid the anti-corruption unit officials and lawyers for further probe and inquiry.

Along with Nasir Jamshed, Pakistani cricketers Khalid Latif and Sharjeel Khan were also suspended following spot-fixing scandal allegations under its Anti-Corruption Code.
Having said that, Nasir Jamshed’s wife Dr. Samara Afzal denied all accusations against her husband. She took social media to comment that the person who’s accused of changing addresses and dodging phone call was always in front of her.
“So the person I see at home every day who looks like my husband … I wonder who that is” she tweeted while lashing out at PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan.

It is sad to see a country with such a vast cricketing culture being plagued with spot-fixing allegation every now and then. Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir were also involved in the spot-fixing scandal back in their 2010 tour to England. The last international match played in Pakistan was in 2009, due to security reasons after Sri Lankan players were attacked by the extremist in Pakistan. Only time will tell when Pakistan will come out of these scenarios and bring back cricket as it used to be in the country.
