Apart from the intense and streaming battles on the cricket field, the various sports personalities also have their personal life which goes in parallel with the responsibilities of managing their personal space, just like other normal people in the world. Aussie premier off-spinner in the longest format Nathan Lyon had a bitter time off the field during the recently concluded Ashes 2017-18 series, where he was allegedly found with a new partner in a real-estate Perth-based agent Emma McCarthy, leaving behind his wife Mel Waring alone. Waring shared the whole story in her recent Life of Lyons blog about what seems to be a bitter taste of spending a life all by herself without her husband.
Cricket has been an important part of our daily lives
The Australian spinner also has two daughters, both aging less than 5 with his ex-wife, with whom he had spent almost a decade of their lives together. During the third Ashes Test match at Perth, several pictures of Lyon kissing his new partner McCarthy came out, which was a serious disheartening and wrecking moment for Waring.
This disappointing incident also brought out the separation of the couple, since which Lyon’s ex-wife has been spending her living all by herself with her two daughters. It was a very brave step taken by the wife about leaving her husband whom she has shared a long and beloved period of life.
“I wasn’t sure what being really alone would feel like, being shut out from him. Since saying goodbye it hadn’t really hit me. We have lived a life where he has constantly traveled, cricket was life and touring was a given. Daddy’s at cricket, it’s easy to forget. Today has been different, I have been strong, I have been brave but today I feel weak, I feel small and I feel alone,” wrote Waring in her blog revealing her thoughts about relationship fallout.
The feelings and the emotions of the past are still in my mind, but not the people
Considering the nature of a family, a father is always playing the leading role guiding his children and wife about how to get accustomed to different situations of life. Waring also revealed in her piece that she never had to worry a lot about the daughters a lot because their father Lyon’s loving nature never allowed her to do so. She even mentioned that the people who were once very close to her are now just a bunch of unknown enemies.
“There are words that ring in my ear, that the girls and I don’t need to worry about anything and that they will always come first.”
“I’m constantly reminded that the team of people who were once there for us both are no longer my friends but my enemy. The words trust no one, have become true and I’m reminded that while he has a team of people around him, protecting him, making a life for him easy, I do not,” noted the ex-partner of Nathan Lyon in her blog.
