Navdeep Saini clears off Devdutt Padikkal with a peach in India's intra-squad session ahead of Sri Lanka series

An Indian team is currently in Sri Lanka gearing up for the all-important white-ball series set to commence on July 13. As the visitors are up in their preparations, they are getting involved in various intra-squad matches every day. On the same note, the second intra-squad match among the Indian side took place on July 07, the footage of which was shared by SLC.

The bowling squad wore India’s practice jersey while the batting unit appeared in the regular dark blue outfit. The video brought up the lively atmosphere in the squad with youngsters like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Navdeep Saini, and Chahar brothers aiming their best. The major chunk of the video displayed pacer Deepak Chahar and Navdeep Saini bowling up to the batting unit.

However, if there was one moment that stole the show, it was Saini’s perfect delivery that got the better of Padikkal. The ball landed in the corridor of uncertainty and got nicked by the batsman to the wicketkeeper. The video also showed also Rahul Chahar bowling his leg-breaks to Pandya surprising him on many deliveries. Gaikwad was seen playing some nicely timed cover drives.

Several uncapped players from India are present on the tour

The white ball series between India and Sri Lanka will see three ODIs and as many T20Is taking place in the island nation. As the main Indian squad is in England, a relatively younger lot is on duty in Lanka and will move under the guidance of ace batsman Shikhar Dhawan. Rahul Dravid, who has always been appreciated time and again for his work with youngsters, has been appointed as the head coach of the squad.

It will be a great chance for the young lot to perform with all their might and caliber. It will be a thing to see if they are able to bring up to the expectations or not. Several uncapped players are also present on the tour and their performance in this series can open up several gates for them in the future.
