Days after Indian opening batsman Gautam Gambhir said the martyrs of Uri attack deserve a biopic than any cricketer, Neeraj Pandey, the director of the biopic, ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ claims that a filmmaker should talk about everything.
Gambhir posted a picture on the microblogging site Twitter saying that the 17 soldiers who were killed in the Uri attack deserve a biopic as they will be the best inspiration.
“I’ve made films on both. We make stories. It’s not that every film should be of a particular genre or anything like that. I think as storytellers we need to talk about everything,” said Neeraj.
Pandey also pointed out that MS Dhoni is a serving Lt Colonel in the Indian Army. “This story is about the hero in us. It’s a very motivational inspiring story. That can come from anyone. And MS (Dhoni) is a serving Lt Colonel in the Indian Army. So that should answer your questions,” he said.

Sushant Singh Rajput, who plays the title role in the biopic feels that it all depends on whether a story is worth telling or not, “Films are made on stories. I’ve played an engineer five times in the theater. The story wasn’t on an engineer, but the inherent story. If the story is worth telling, then you can play anything,” he said as the duo was speaking at the launch of “Har Gully Mein Dhoni” song.
Neeraj said that Dhoni was silent for about ten minutes after watching the movie as if it had really touched his heart. “We both were silent for about ten minutes after we had seen the film. That goes to say he must’ve liked it. There was nothing to say,” he concluded.
