The Australian side visited Pakistan earlier this year after a bit of skepticism from the players. The players had some good time time off the pitch as David Warner revealed recently.

Australia visited Pakistan for three Tests, three ODIs, and a solitary T20I. Warner, who was integral to the Test squad led by Pat Cummins, saw his team return with an impressive 1-0 Test series win. Though Pakistan fought back against a much-depleted Australian squad in the ODIs as they won the series 2-1, Australia triumphed against the hosts in the solitary T20I to end the tour on a winning note.

There were several social media posts where the Australian players were seen enjoying themselves in the eateries.
“The hospitality in Pakistan was second to none, and I have never had so much BBQ ever in my life,” Warner told Fox Cricket.

David Warner opens up on his tussle with Shaheen Afridi

The Test series was a hard-fought affair and featured some mouth-watering individual battles as well. Warner was dismissed by Shaheen Afridi in both the innings of the final and decisive Test as he was on the receiving end of a fiery spell by the Pakistan quick.

The left-hander had shown restraint against Afridi’s impressive bowling, and the duo had an altercation on the pitch as Shaheen had an eye-to-eye with the southpaw. However, after the game, a few stories surfaced on Instagram where the duo was seen hugging each other. Warner revealed about his on-pitch incident with the tall pacer.

“Look, he [Shaheen] is a big gentle giant. It was like looking at Big Ben. He has a lot of character and bowls with pace,” Warner added. He also spoke about the deliberations that took place between the governing bodies and the relevant government authorities before the series.

“It was a series that needed to be, and I am glad I was part of it. We were a little bit scared initially, but we had a lot of conferences in communication with Cricket Australia, the Australia High Commission, and the Pakistani government. It was a great series to be a part of.”
