Senior India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been on a roll in the ongoing T20I series against England.  He dismissed the opposition skipper Jos Buttler twice in the series to put the hosts under pressure and has paved way for the India’s big wins.

Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar, who has had multiple fitness issues in the last couple of years, explained how he has succeeded in overcoming his injuries. The UP cricketer was ruled out of IPL 2020 due to a hamstring injury and was then forced to walk off the field due to a thigh strain in the first half of IPL 2021. If that was not enough, the pacer was also benched for the all-important ICC T20 World Cup 2021 league clash against New Zealand due to fitness issues.

I was working with the physios, and trainers and doing my thing: Bhuvneshwar Kumar

“I never thought that it, that was it for me, but yes, I was working with the physios, trainers and doing my thing. And of course, when you are out of the game you’re never confident. You just, feel a bit frustrated or disappointed, but you want to come back. And luckily I know I came back and (I’m) playing for India again,” said Bhuvneshwar while speaking to reporters.

He finished with figures of 3/15 from his three overs at an economy rate of five, including a maiden over, to be adjudged the Player of the Match for his match-winning spell as India took an unassailable 2-0 lead by winning the second T20I by an emphatic margin of 49 runs. The senior pacer had also bowled an impressive spell in the first game, registering figures of 1/10 from his three overs. It now remains to be seen whether Bhuvneshwar will yet again star with the ball in hand in the third and final game at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on Sunday, July 10.
