Brendon McCullum will lead the squad and Kane Williamson will serve as vice-captain. The squad made headlines after Jimmy Neesham, who has been a regular in the side since his debut, was dropped and all-rounder Grant Elliot was picked, who last played an international in September 2013. Matt Henry who had a fantastic series against Pakistan in UAE was also dropped to the senior counter-part Tim Southee.
