AB de Villiers is one of those rare players in international cricket who is loved and admired all around the world. However, during the fourth One-Day International against the Kiwis, the support staff of the venue tried to disrupt the concentration of the Proteas skipper.

They did something very hilarious to stop the South African and failed to do so. AB is a part time musician as well and he produced a single back in 2010 which went viral in his country. The song named ‘Maak Jou Drome Waar’ means to make your dreams come true. During ABD’s innings, the support staff played this same song on the loudspeaker.

They intended to disrupt the concentration of the star batsman but de Villiers enjoyed it instead. After the game, the Proteas skipper revealed that he did not pay attention to it much and rather sung along with the song. He also played air guitar using his bat. He said: “I was singing along, no one picked it up but I was actually playing a bit of air guitar on my bat as well. I thought I’d be on the highlights package. I love it. They’ve got to do it more often.”

The South African batsman scored a brilliant 59-ball 72 which helped his team score a defendable total. He also hit a ridiculous reverse pull shot of a slower bouncer. South Africa were held at 279 for 8 after their 50 overs. Kiwis pulled the game back with some gritty death bowling. The host came out all guns blazing as Martin Guptill scored a record 180 to win the game for the New Zealanders. They won it with five overs to spare.

That score by Guptill was the highest score by a Kiwi in a chase. New Zealand leveled the 5-match series 2-2 to set a final showdown for the fifth game.
