New Zealand domestic contracts list for 2017-18 season

Last month, the six major cricket associations in New Zealand announced the list of their first round contract offers. All the offers were accepted by the players. The associations have also completed the second round process with all the offerings getting an approval for the coming 2017-18 season.

The contract procedure for the Kiwi domestic players involves two rounds, with each team signing a total of 15 players. This process is designed to ensure a fair competition between the different associations to provide the players, a competitive contract. It benefits both the players and the associations.

2016-17 season highlights

The 2016-17 domestic season in New Zealand was a successful one for both the players as well as the fans. Canterbury captain Andrew Ellis was named New Zealand Cricket Men’s Domestic “Player of the Year” for the second time. Canterbury also won the Plunket Shield title for the third time in four seasons. Many players received their maiden call-ups to the national side based on their excellent domestic performances in the season.
