Sri Lankan batsmen have continued their poor form and lost yet another match on this tour of New Zealand. While chasing the target of 183 runs, against Trent Boult who has showed his class once again and picked up Dilshan’s wicket early in the chase while man with the golden arm, Matt Henry picked up the wickets of two pillars of Sri Lanka’s batting line-up Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal inside first five others but with the help of Danushka Gunathilaka and Milinda Siriwardana’s innings along with lower order’s contributions, Sri Lanka gave some fight and remained in the match till the last over but against Kane Williamson’s bowling moves and New Zealand’s good bowling, and Sri Lanka eventually lost the match by three runs.

Earlier in 1st innings, New Zealand posted 182 runs for the loss of four wickets at the end of 20 overs with the help of Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson’s fifties while Munro and Taylor also contributed towards a big total for New Zealand.

130 – Number of runs scored by Martin Guptill since 1 January 2010 against Sri Lanka in T20I cricket which is most by any New Zealand player in T20I cricket against Sri Lanka. He has scored 130 runs in 5 matches against Sri Lanka.

9 – Number of times TM Dilshan has been out on duck which is most times among all other Sri Lankan batsmen in T20I cricket.

12 – Number of wickets taken by Nuwan Kulasekara against New Zealand in T20I cricket which most by any Sri Lanka bowler barring Ajantha Mendis who has also taken 12 wickets against New Zealand in T20I cricket. Nuwan Kulasekara has taken 12 wickets against Sri Lanka in T20I cricket in 9 matches. In this 1st match, he took two wickets.

6.40 – The economy rate at which Nuwan Kulasekara has given his runs against New Zealand in T20I cricket which is best among other Sri Lankan bowlers who have taken eight or more wickets against New Zealand in T20I cricket. In this match, he gave away runs at an economy rate of 6.50.

6.68 – Economy rate at which NuwanKulasekara has given his runs in T20I cricket since 1 January 2010 which is second best among all bowlers who have taken 41 or more wickets in T20I cricket after 1 January 2010. Saeed Ajmal is at the top in that list giving runs just at an economy of 6.51. Nuwan Kulasekara has played 35 matches after 1 January 2010 and taken 42 wickets.

42 – Number of wickets taken by Nuwan Kulasekara since 1 January 2010 which is second most among all Sri Lanka bowlers in T20I cricket after Lasith Malinga who has taken 50 wickets since 1 January 2010 in T20 cricket.

133 – Number of fours hit by Martin Guptill in T20I cricket which is seventh most among all other players. Brendon McCullum (199), TM Dilshan (187), Mahela Jayawardena (173), Mohammad Hafeez (152), Kumar Sangakkara (139) and David Warner (137) are ahead of Martin Guptill in the list of most number of fours hit by a batsman in T20I cricket.

40 – Number of catches taken by Ross Taylor in T20I cricket which is third most by a player and most by any other New Zealand player. AB de Villiers (58) and Umar Akmal (43) are ahead of him.

672 – Number of runs scored by Martin Guptill in New Zealand which is the second most after Brendon McCullum who has scored 787 runs in 23 T20I matches in New Zealand.

44.80 – Average at which Martin Guptill has scored his runs in New Zealand which is the best among all batsmen who have scored 175 or more runs in New Zealand.

420 – Number of sixes hit by New Zealand team players in T20I cricket which is second most after Australian team’s players who have hit 465 sixes in T20I cricket till this day.

9235 – Number of balls faced by New Zealand players in T20I cricket which is the second most after Pakistan team’s players who have faced 11,105 balls in T20I cricket till this day.

15 – Number of times Sri Lankan team’s openers have been out for a duck in T20I cricket which is second most along with South African team’s openers and after Pakistan team’s openers who have been out without scoring 18 times in T20I cricket.

128.51 – Strike rate at which New Zealand team’s openers have scored their runs against all countries in T20I cricket which is second best after Australian team’s openers. Australian openers have scored 4544 runs in T20I cricket at a strike rate of 142.17 in 78 matches.

84 – Number of T20 international matches played by New Zealand team which is second most after Pakistan. Pakistan has played 95 T20 international matches.

78 – Number of wickets taken by Trent Boult since 1 January 2015 in all forms of international cricket which is third most by any other bowler. Mitchell Starc (88) and Ravi Ashwin (87) are ahead of him. In the first match, he has taken three wickets.

30 – Number of catches taken by Martin Guptill in all forms of international cricket since 1 January 2015 which is third most among all other fielders. Only Joe Root with 40 catches and Ajinkya Rahane with 34 catches are ahead of him.

29 – Number of matches won by New Zealand since 1 January 2015 in international cricket (all forms of the game) which is most by any other team. New Zealand has won 29 out of 48 matches in international cricket since 1 January 2015.

7th – New Zealand became 7th team to achieve the feat of winning 100 or more than 100 matches since 1 January 2010. Before New Zealand, six teams- Australia, India, Sri Lanka, England, Pakistan and South Africa have achieved this feat.
