7040 – Runs Ross Taylor aggregated while batting at No.4 in ODI cricket; the most by any player at this position. Taylor became the first player with 7000 ODI runs at No.4 during the first game of the series. The previous highest number of ODI runs aggregated by any player at No.4 is 6947 runs by Mahela Jayawardene.
Guptill knocks down Bangladesh:
118 – Martin Guptill’s 118-run knock is the 2nd highest individual score for New Zealand against Bangladesh in the ODI format. Only Tom Latham (137 in Christchurch, 2016) has a higher ODI score for the Kiwis against the Bangla Tigers. Guptill’s 117* in the first ODI is now the 3rd highest ODI score for a New Zealand player against Bangladesh.
