New Zealand vs India: Distraught Krunal Pandya accuses Tim Seifert of obstructing the field in Wellington
India will be chasing a huge total having opted to bowl first after winning the toss.
After a rather one-sided ODI series between India and New Zealand, the T20Is have got off to a perfect start. The Kiwis, after being put in to bat first, have blunted the leather smashing the bowlers to all the parts of the Westpac Stadium. Tim Seifert has been the centre of attraction who opened the innings for New Zealand in Wellington. However, there came a moment when he was accused of obstructing the field by Krunal Pandya.
The incident happened in the ninth over of the innings when the hosts were well placed at 87/1 and it was the first delivery of the skipper Kane Williamson. Krunal had his tails up after scalping Colin Munro’s wicket and bowled a brilliant delivery which pitched short of a length, held in the pitch, and took the top edge of Williamson’s bat to lob up for a catch.
The ball went a little bit away from Krunal Pandya who dived in the air to attempt a dismissal. But Seifert got into his middle and didn’t move only to come in the way of the bowler. The possibility of a catch could become the reality and Krunal was distraught with it.
Umpire advices Krunal to calm down
Krunal Pandya went up immediately against Tim Seifert. He appealed for obstructing the field against the batsman but the on-field didn’t react and adviced him to calm down. The left-arm spinner, however, went back to his bowling run-up and clearly showed his disappointment towards the batsman.

Krunal, however, didn’t lose his cool and bowled the rest of his spell. He went for a few runs initially but then came back well. Also, Williamson made the most of his stay in the crease by smashing 34 off 22 balls with three sixes to his name. New Zealand have already crossed the 200-run mark and India might be chasing a huge score in Wellington.
