New Zealand vs India: MS Dhoni pokes fun at Yuzvendra Chahal while speaking to Kuldeep Yadav
Dhoni is at it again with his hilarious stump-mic comments.
MS Dhoni’s stump mic comments always go viral as more often than not he is heard advising the spinner from behind the wickets. The same happened during the ODI series in New Zealand and the veteran even surprised Kedar Jadhav by speaking in Marathi during the final game in Wellington. With India in a great position, Dhoni seemed to be in the fun mood as he poked fun hilariously at Yuzvendra Chahal by giving Muttiah Muralitharan’s reference.
The incident took place when Jimmy Neesham was batting in the middle and there was some fielding adjustment done by Chahal. At the same time, Kuldeep, who came in as a substitute fielder, was standing at square leg near the umpire. The leggie got into his run-up early while the batsman wasn’t ready yet and had to go back and bowl again.
During that period, MS Dhoni, in a jovial mood, while talking to Kuldeep was heard saying, “Phenkne de isko. Muralitharan se fielding mein usko farak padta hai (which literally translates to: Let him bowl. He is bothered more than Muralitharan in field settings).” Kuldeep laughed hilariously in response as the action resumed the very next second.
Here’s the video:
Chahal in the fifth ODI
As far as Chahal’s performance in the fifth ODI is concerned, he ended with the figures of 3/41 which is impressive given the fact that he was the lone specialist spinner in the game. Kuldeep Yadav was rested with Kedar Jadhav donning the hat of the second spinner. Chahal was also one of the best bowlers in the series as he accounted for a total of nine scalps in five matches.
After being ignored for a few matches with Ravindra Jadeja returning to the mix, Chahal has made a stunning comeback since the third ODI against Australia. India have got a happy headache ahead of the World Cup now and might go in with two wrist spinners at the start and also have Jadeja in the squad as a back-up.
