The first leg of the ongoing Nidahas Trophy has come to an end with all the three teams registering a victory each. The second leg of the tournament is all set to begin on Monday as India and Sri Lanka will lock horns at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. While the rain ahead of the match in the last game didn’t affect the nature of the wicket, it is set to interrupt this time around with the weather changing dramatically over the last few days in Colombo.
This is a great chance for both the teams to give themselves a chance to qualify for the finals and the victory in this game would mean they will be topping the charts. The Men in Blue will be under pressure going after losing to the hosts very easily first time around and will be raring to settle the scores. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, are jolted severely after failing to defend 214 against Bangladesh and even their skipper Dinesh Chandimal has been suspended for the next couple of games for poor over-rate.
The weather is expected to play its part in the match much more than ever in this series and the teams would be thinking of chasing after winning the toss. Here we bring you the detailed weather forecast for the fourth game of the tri-series.
Weather forecast
According to Accu Weather, currently there is a possibility of thunderstorms in Colombo and the weather is likely to remain the same during the game as well. While the showers are expected to come down at 7 PM which is the exact start time of the match, clouds might get cleared soon. However, there are 47% to 51% chances of rain during the course of the game which is highest so far in the series. The temperature will be around 28 Degree Celsius.
There are chances of a brief shower or two which should not abandon the match but it will be frustrating for the players and spectators as it might be a start-stop kind of game. Also, the humidity is expected to go up to 88% due to the rain around in the city. It will be interesting to see the way the game progresses in the evening on Monday.
Overall verdict: Rain will certainly interrupt the game with the clouds opening up during the game and Duckworth Lewis Stern method will come into play on Monday.
