Rivalry in sports is an essential element in order to generate hype and competition surrounding the game. However, at times, the intensity overflows which results in some altercations, both on and off the field. Shakib Al Hasan and his men were involved in a protest during their last game, which drew severe criticisms from the public.
Apart from the on-field incident, the situation in the stands at the R. Premadasa Stadium wasn’t great either. A Bangladesh fan claimed to have been attacked by a Sri Lankan fan, which made him and his companion agitated. They subsequently lashed out to the media and expressed their agony which was later uploaded on YouTube.

They mentioned having changed places in the stadium due to lack of security. Subsequently, they sat in a place surrounded by police. However, Ali claimed to have been beaten and pushed despite the presence of the armed force. They also blamed the police for not taking any action despite the repeated attack by the Sri Lankan fan.

Barring the heated exchanges, Bangladesh cricketers and it’s fans have plenty to cheer in the ongoing triangular T20 tournament. Yesterday, they were up against a vibrant Sri Lankan team in a virtual semi-final.
They got Sri Lanka on the mat having churned out five early wickets. However, Thisara Perera and Kusal Perera’s onslaught pushed them on the back-foot. During the run-chase, Bangladesh stumbled frantically and lost wickets at regular intervals. However, Mahmudullah’s stupendous knock got them over the line and ensured them a berth in the Final against India on Sunday.
