Mandeep Singh, the Indian cricketer is currently leading Punjab in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2019-20. He made his first-class debut back in 2010-11 and since then he is a regular face in the state team. The 27-year-old gave convincing performances for his side in the opening game of their Ranji season against Rajasthan. However, after the match, he came out with a motivational quote on social media only to delete it later.
Mandeep hogged the spotlight after performing well in 2010 Under-19 World Cup. He emerged as one of the top scorers for Under-19 Team India in that marquee event and it helped him to get his spot in his state Ranji team. The young player also got his international debut in 2016 against Zimbabwe in a three-match ODI series and smashed a fifty as well.
However, after the arrival of the senior players in the squad, he was sidelined from the national side. But, he is still working hard to get back into Team India.
Mandeep Singh feels motivated after his match-winning performance against Rajasthan
The right-handed batsman from Punjab has also been part of many franchises in IPL like Kolkata Knight Riders, Kings XI Punjab and RCB. But, his breakthrough season came in 2012 when he scored 432 runs in 16 games for KXIP and won ‘Rising Star of the Tournament’ in the same season. But, since then he has been struggling to attain consistency in his game.
In the opening match of Ranji Trophy 2019-20, Mandeep played a good knock of 122 runs that helped Punjab to register a convincing victory over Rajasthan by a margin of 10 wickets. He was also awarded Man of The Match for his match-winning knock.
Later on, he took to his Twitter Handle and came up with a tweet which read, “No rich parents, No handouts, No favours, Straight Hustle. All-day every day,”. It was quite evident from the tweet that Mandeep was feeling motivated after getting a good start to his Ranji season.
Here is the post from Mandeep Singh:
However, his post didn’t go down well with the fans and criticised him for the same. After watching the unpleasant response from the fans, he clarified that it was just a quote and nothing more. Mandeep also added that his parents are not rich and it is a fact. But, it doesn’t mean that rich people don’t work hard. His response to one of the tweets read, “It was just a quote, please don’t read into it too much. My parents weren’t rich yes, but that doesn’t mean I said that rich people don’t hustle”.

What a stupid insecure statement from @mandeeps12. If you have rich parents, you cant hustle? All day, everyday is true for everyone..EVERYONE
