Not very concerned about the numbers: Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah was as much a part of India’s victory as he completed with figures of 3/11 as the Indians coasted to a comfortable win in the second T20. Although Bumrah became the highest wicket-taker in T20s with 23 wickets to his name, he stated that he is one who never thinks about numbers. Moreover, Bumrah also added that he was pleased with the performances of debutants Mandeep Singh and Barinder Sran.
Speaking about the victory, Bumrah said, “We are very happy because we were a bit disappointed after the last match. We were looking to come into the match much harder at the opposition. We were just sticking to our basic plan that we had to hit the correct areas which are important on the wicket. So, it was a good result for us.”
Speaking about the debutants, Bumrah said, “I am very happy for him (Barinder Sran) because he didn’t play the last match. This was a pressure match for him. He bowled well and he was swinging the new ball and that is a very good sign for India. I am very happy that he has done well.”
“I am very happy for him (Mandeep Singh) as well because it is his first tour for India. You always look to make a mark on your first tour and whenever you are playing for India. He played well in the last match and played well today as well, so it is a good sign for us.”

“No, I never think of the numbers. Whenever I try to take a wicket, I never get a wicket. So, I always try to hit the correct areas and try to contain the batsman, so that gives me the best opportunity to take a wicket and that is the only thing that I do.”
Finally, speaking about the match and his favorite wicket, Bumrah said, “I think we got wickets with the new ball and that made a big impact. We were also getting wickets regularly and that didn’t give them the momentum that was needed. As a unit, we were taking wickets, the spinners were also taking wickets and that gives a lot of confidence to the bowling unit as a whole.”

“All the wickets are satisfying because I am very happy whenever I get a wicket. But, my favorite wicket was the second one I took, it was (Elton) Chigambura. It was an important wicket because he could take away the game from us.”
