India will embark on their tour of the United Kingdom (UK) on June 23. Their first assignment will be the T20I series versus Ireland, which is scheduled to take place on June 27 and 29 respectively. Thereafter, Virat Kohli’s men will move to England to play a three-match T20I, three-match ODI and a five-Test series’, which starts in the first week of July.

India is the number one ranked team in Tests, but, their task isn’t speculated to be a cakewalk by any stretch of the imagination. Last time around, they were beaten black and blue and the team will definitely want to make amends and put forward a resilient show. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper, has put forth the team’s strategies to counter the might of the Englishmen.

“Now I am 110 percent”- Virat

“The strategy will be the same as it was during the tour to South Africa, Sri Lanka. Our mindset doesn’t change on the basis of one series. We have patience and the focus is on how to win matches,” Virat Kohli was quoted as saying at a press conference in New Delhi.

The Delhi-born cricketer also updated about his fitness. He suffered a neck sprain during the latter stages of the IPL. “I am 100 percent ready to go. I have had a good practice. Body is feeling fine. These sort of breaks really help and keep you mentally fresh,” Virat remarked.

Kohli’s neck injury also meant that he couldn’t take part in his maiden County stint for Surrey in England’s domestic cricket. However, he has no regrets surrounding the same. Rather, he believed it was a blessing in disguise.

“In hindsight, not playing county cricket was the best thing to happen at that moment. Although I wanted to experience the conditions, that’s a place where we haven’t played so much. There is a big gap of four years. I wanted the damp conditions to acclimatize.

But when I look at it now, if I was 90 percent with my body attempted to get used to the conditions, now I am 110 percent and I would much rather be in this position,” the 29-year-old added.
