Now you can play as Virat Kohli in Big Ant Studios’ Ashes Cricket. The game opens up real likenesses of the Australian and England cricketers, as you sit down with your pals and play the action-packed game of cricket. Due to license issues, other teams and their cricketers have not been included in the game but there is no worry as you can create your own Team India or any other team for that matter.

Gamers can visit the ‘Community Area’ option in the game. It allows users to upload and download user-edited names and similar appearances. Therefore fans can now create the in-game versions of their favorite stars and battle it out. The game uses the latest 3D modeling, motion capture and photogrammetry technology.

Excellent features

It has both the versions of men and women’s cricket. Cricket Australia earlier said that they want to attract more young sports lovers by reaching out to them through the game. Big Ant Studios have worked with Australian captain Steve Smith, all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, Emma Inglis and Mackinley Blows. Their movements and signature shots have been captured. Interestingly, players can now start building their local clubs and reach new heights

Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland said, “We continue to look for ways to connect with new audiences. We recognise the role digital games can play in doing this, particularly reaching younger fans, and fuelling their interest in the game – and ideally seeing them pick up a bat and ball to play Australia’s favourite sport.”

Minister for Creative Industries Martin Foley said, “Melbourne is the home of sport, and the home of digital games. This game shows how major brands are recognising the incredible growth and potential of games, as well as the talent that calls Victoria home.”

With FIFA and other sports ruling the digital sports’ world, it was a much-needed addition for all the cricket lovers, as now they can get close to real action. The 1st Test match between Australia and England will be starting on 23rd November in Brisbane.
