Nuwan Pradeep ruled out of ODI series against Australia

Sri Lanka pace bowler Nuwan Pradeep has been ruled out of action for the entire series following an injury sustained in the practice session. Pradeep will now be replaced by yet another youngster Angelo Perera, who has impressed heavily with his batting in domestic cricket.

Nuwan Pradeep’s absence from the squad sees the Lankans come under severe pressure especially having lost the first ODI to the Aussies despite having been provided by a wonderful playing surface where the spinners could thrive on.

Having won the Test series rather convincingly, it is clear that the Lankans have their backs against the wall. In spite of fighting knocks from Dinesh Chandimal and Kusal Mendis, Aaron Finch and Australia skipper Steve Smith worked tremendously hard to make an impact with the bat and lead Australia to a win.

After losing to Australian in the first ODI by 3 wickets, Sri Lanka will play their next ODI on 24th of August (Wednesday).
