Virat Kohli brought an end to his string of low scores against Australia across formats with a 92-run knock in the testing conditions more because of the weather at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata in the 2nd ODI game. Kohli scored 92 off 107 balls before deflecting a delivery from Nathan Coulter-Nile on to his stumps trying to dab it towards the third-man. The India skipper recorded only his 6th ODI score in the 90s but has 30 centuries at the same time in this format.

5 – Number of times Virat Kohli has been dismissed in the 90s in ODI cricket; the 2nd most by any player in this format since 2010. Kane Williamson six times while Glenn Maxwell and Kumar Sangakkara have been dismissed four times each in the 90s during this period.

Kohli is only the 4th Indian to be dismissed in the 90s in ODI cricket five and more times. Sachin Tendulkar got out 17 times in the 90s while there were six such instances in Sourav Ganguly’s career. Virender Sehwag also got out on five occasions in 90s in ODIs.

6 – This is the sixth time Kohli recorded a score in the 90s in ODI cricket. One of them was an unbeaten inning against Bangladesh in the Champions Trophy 2017 semi-final.

Mohammad Azharuddin in 1998 and MS Dhoni in 2009 also had 11 scores of fifty and more in this format. Overall, only three captains recorded more fifty-plus scores in ODIs in a calendar year.
