The 2023 ODI World Cup is slated to begin on October 5 in India as defending champions England will cross swords with New Zealand in the curtain raiser at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Since the inception of the global ODI competition, as many as 12 editions have been played, starting from 1975.
