In the absence of international cricket, Indian players have been keeping themselves busy by working out amid the pandemic. To be equipped whenever cricket resumes in the country, all players have been sweating it out to maintain their fitness levels.

At a time when the feasibility of IPL 2020 is uncertain due to COVID-19 debacle, many players are leaving no stone unturned to be in shape during the absence of cricket. Many players like KL Rahul, Suresh Raina and Virat Kohli have been sharing their workout videos along with spreading awareness about COVID-19 outbreak.

Following the trend, Mandeep Singh, who plays for Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League (IPL), recently took to Instagram to share a video of him training at a ground in Punjab. The video was flooded with comments and likes but it was Virat Kohli’s hilarious comment which left everyone in splits.

The Indian skipper, impressed by Mandeep sweating it out on the ground, took a cheeky dig at him by asking him to lift his legs while running. “Oh lattan chakk ke daud sheraa,” Kohli’s said on Mandeep’s video on Instagram.

However, it was Mandeep who had the last laugh as he came up with an even better response. Mandeep told Kohli that he can only lift his legs while dancing, running seems a gruelling task. “@virat.kohli lattan bhangre ch chuk sakda, daudhan ch thoda aukha kam aa paaji,” Mandeep responded to Kohli’s comment.

Talking about his IPL career, Mandeep has played 97 matches and has scored 1,529 runs at an impressive strike rate of over 124. He has previously also shared the dressing room with Virat Kohli while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore. 28-year-Mandeep also plays for Punjab in the top-flight of Indian cricket.

This was not the first time when Kohli has taken a dig at his teammate. The India skipper has been quite active on social media amid the pandemic. Recently, Kohli had also taken a dig at Mayank Agarwal on his ‘upside-down’ training photo.

Kohli himself has been sharing several workout videos at a time when the resumption of cricket in the country is uncertain. He had recently shared a video of his fly-pushups while adding a ‘clap’ twist to it. Had the IPL 2020 commenced as per schedule, Kohli would’ve aimed to lead Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to their maiden title.
