Travis Head had an outing to remember in the first Test of Australia’s five-match Test series against England. The left-hander scored 152 runs off 148 balls with the help of 14 fours and four sixes and on the back of the knock, the Aussies secured a nine-wicket victory at The Gabba in Brisbane. He also got the Player of the Match award for the stupendous knock in the encounter.
In the meantime, Head was heard swearing on stump mic during Australia’s first innings. When he was batting on 86, the batter went for a full-blooded pull shot. It was only the 73rd ball that he faced, showing how aggressive he was during his knock.
After he missed the ball, “Oh you c***,” was heard on the stump. The commentators ignored the incident and carried on with their work. A number of prominent figures also reacted on the occurring at The Gabba.
James Silver , the sports editor of Daily Telegraph, said, “Travis Head going all Brandon Smith in the final session #ohyoucbomb”.
Code Sports’ Brendan Bradford said, “Did Head just say what I think he said??”
Tony Harper, The Roar’s Editor, “’Oh you’ what? Head wasn’t the only one who let that through to the keeper. Some admirable restraint from Warne and Waugh after that C bomb.”
Matt Walsh of ESPN said, “Travis Head stump mic slip”

Cummins lauds Travis Head
After the Aussies took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series, their skipper Pat Cummins was over the moon. He lauded David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne for setting the tone in Australia’s first innings. Cummins, who replaced Tim Paine as the Test skipper, also had words of praises for Head.
“I really enjoyed it, a lot of things did go right, probably from the toss – overcast conditions, wicket had a bit in it, turn up day two and it’s blue skies. So, someone was smiling on me. Really proud of everyone, complete performance, the bowlers did their thing, then Marnus and Davey’s partnership and the way Travis played. Sign of a positive, brave side. I was really happy about how everyone stuck to it, we bowled without luck yesterday,” Cummins said.
