One of India’s leading app based Taxi-aggregators Ola, have roped in Indian allrounder Irfan Pathan as their brand ambassador for the virtual cricket game that they launched on Monday. The game is called ‘Ola Partners League’ which helps to engage the driver partners during the ride.
Irfan has been named a key person alongside the Broadcast and Television Host Mandira Bedi, in a bid to promote the game on the Smartphone application platform. “Ola Partners League is a great initiative to support driver partners by playing a simple yet engaging game directly from their smartphones,” the 32-year-old was quoted as saying by ANI.
The game as of now is available in 7 Indian cities namely Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata from the 24th of April until the end of the Indian Premier League, on 21st May. Mandira Bedi commented that “Ola continues to give their best following the dedication as a Taxi aggregator while creating ample avenues for its business partners,” which in a way is true in the context of transport in India.
“As the ambassador for Ola Partners League, I am looking forward to encouraging driver partners to come forward to participate and win big this cricket season,” Pathan added.
Mandira felt that initiatives such as the OPL reflect the companies’ commitment to creating relevant opportunities for the driver partners. The Taxi providers will provide the 28-day competition where the driver partners will stand a chance to bag home some wonderful merchandise and goods such as Laptops and Television sets.
“Through OPL, we are presenting our partners an opportunity to play their favourite game virtually and win exciting rewards,” Ola COO Vishal Kaul said. Reports stated that the contest would see the partners cashing in on aggregate runs which further could be redeemed every week albeit they could be able to draw out prizes only once.
The participants are supposed to score runs during the period alongside completing multiple tasks before the contest winners would be given the opportunity to send their ward to the top of cricketing schools to hone their skills.
“As a homegrown company, we have been building solutions and initiatives for our driver partners and their families to enable their professional and personal growth, OPL is another step in that direction,” Kaul concluded.
