Oman D10 2022: Day 10 – Round Up

Ruwi Rangers thrashed Qururm Thunders by eight wickets in the final to become the champions of Oman D10 League 2022. The summit clash went right down to the wire as both teams were determined to cross the line. However, Khalid Kail and Naseem Khushi held their nerves as the Rangers chased down 126 with a couple of deliveries to spare.

Meanwhile, the final day of the T10 tournament saw three games on display. Before battling it out in the finals, the Rangers and Thunders played their respective last Super 4 stage games against Bousher Busters and Amerat Royals respectively. While Rangers won their rubber pretty comfortably, the Thunders piped Royals by five runs in a close contest.

Speaking of the opening game of the day, Ruwi Rangers won the toss and elected to bat. While opener Hannan Rizwan made a quick-fire 28 at the top, Khalid Kail stole the show by scoring 53 off just 23 deliveries. As a result, the Rangers advanced to 139/5 in their allotted 10 overs.  In reply, the Busters could never really keep up to the scoring rate and were eventually restricted to 100/4, losing the game by 39 runs.

Qurum Thunders  vs Amerat Royals

The second game of the day saw Qurum Thunders taking on Amerat Royals in the last Super 4 game of the season. The Thunders got off to a flying start while batting first with openers Kashyap Kumar Prajapati and Jatinder Singh attacking bowlers from the outset. However, a batting order collapse meant the Thunders were bundled out for 109. The total, however, eventually proved to be enough as the Royals lost the game by five runs.

Ruwi Rangers vs Qururm Thunders – Final

Coming to the final contest, Ruwi Rangers elected to field after winning the toss. The likes of Jatinder Singh and Ayan Khan extended their stellar run with the bat as the Thunders posted 125/4 in their allotted 10 overs. Chasing the tricky total, the Rangers lost opener Hannan Rizwan for a duck. However, Shafqat Ullah, Khalid Kail and Naseem Khushi played fiery knocks as the Rangers crossed the line in 9.4 overs, winning the contest by eight wickets.
