On This Day in 2019: Virat Kohli gives Kesrick Williams a taste of his own medicine in Hyderabad
Virat Kohli scored just 20 in his first 20 balls and got charged up after a verbal spat with Kesrick Williams.
On December 06, 2019, former India captain Virat Kohli played one of his finest knocks in international cricket as he unleashed his wrath on the West Indies in the first T20I at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Kohli walked in to bat with India on 30/1 after 3.2 overs chasing 208 but he struggled to find timing scoring just 20 off his first 20 balls.
The chase master got his innings going by smashing a six and a boundary on back-to-back deliveries against Jason Holder in the 12th over. However, it was the incident in the 13th over that had awakened the sleeping beast in Kohli. Notably, West Indies seamer Kesrick Williams gave a stare to the then-Indian captain as he let one ball go down the leg side for a wide and the Indian captain asked him to get back to his bowling mark.
