At the moment, the Mumbai Indians are considered the hot-favorites to win the IPL 2020. For the simple reason, that the 4-time champions are playing on a different level compared to the other teams of the league. They are rolling over oppositions, and its best example is their recent 9-wicket win against Delhi Capitals. With that win, they also made sure that they will end up as the table toppers of the league stages in the 13th edition of the tournament.

The kind of form they are in, it will be a monumental task for any team to stop them from winning their 5th championship. It doesn’t mean that they are unbeatable as they have also lost four games this season. And two of those losses have come in Super-Over ties, and that’s the only area where they haven’t been able to close off the games. One of them came against Kings XI Punjab, where the team became a part of history by playing two Super-Overs.

In that game, Mumbai did its best to win the game, but their skipper, Rohit Sharma, did make a small mistake which eventually cost them the game. It is about his decision to bat in the Super-Over, where they needed six runs to win the tie. He chose himself to get the job done ahead of big hitters like Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya. In particular, it was quite baffling considering the hitting form of Kieron Pollard on that night. Thereafter, he even injured himself during that stay, and since then, he hasn’t played a game. It might not be a blunder of the highest order, but Captain Sharma did miss the mark for a change.
