The Pakistan cricket team has stayed true to its unpredictability character in the 2019 World Cup. A couple of weeks ago they were staring down the barrel after being hammered by their nemesis, India. Soon after that, the side has picked up their pace by winning against South Africa and New Zealand and now have a good chance to qualify for the knock-out stages. Even their Prime Minister, Imran Khan has lauded the efforts who recently included World Cup member, Hasan Ali in his Youth Council.
After the game against India, the entire Pakistan team was roasted by the country’s media and audience. Apart from their captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed, there were other players who were blamed for the shabby performance. One of them was Hasan Ali who failed miserably under pressure as he conceded 84 runs in his 9-over spell.
Hasan was expected to deliver as he was one of the heroes when the team played against Men in Blue in their last ICC encounter, 2017 Champions Trophy final. Following that performance, the speedster has kept his place in the side even though he has not provided match-winning contributions from last year. His rough patch continued in the World Cup and as a result, he was dropped after the first four games of the tournament.
Hasan Ali will play an important role in shaping the youngsters of Pakistan
The speedster is now carrying drinks for the team and it is highly unlikely that he will return to the mix in the remainder of the matches. It will be a huge disappointment for him but at last, he has something to cheer. Hasan has found a place in the 33 member team of the country’s first Youth Council formed by Prime Minister on the 30th of June.
It is termed as the right step taken by the former World Cup winning captain, Imran Khan who is now trying to lead the nation with the same honour. Hasan Ali has been named as one of the candidates who will work closely with the government for the upliftment of youths. He has shown his gratitude via a video message on his Twitter account for including him in such a noble cause. Ali offered his complete support and even wished Imran Khan for taking good decisions.
