First Test between Australia and Pakistan ends in a draw
Speaking of how the first game in Rawalpindi panned out, Pakistan batted first and posted a total of 476/4, with Imam-ul-Haq and Azhar Ali slamming centuries. In reply, Australia were bowled out for 459, with Warner, Khawaja, Smith, and Labuschagne slamming half-centuries. Nauman Ali was outstanding with the ball in hand and scalped a six-wicket haul for the Pakistan outfit.
Pakistan produced another rollicking performance with the bat in their second innings, and their scorecard read 252/0 as the match ended in a stalemate. Both their openers, Imam and Abdullah Shafique slammed unbeaten centuries for the hosts in the second innings. The fast bowlers had a tough time in the match as the Rawalpindi pitch offered them literally no assistance.
Needless to say, Imam-ul-Haq won the Player of the Match award for scoring twin hundreds in the same Test match. He became the 10th batter from the Pakistan cricket team to accomplish this feat.
