Australia are all over Pakistan in the ongoing second Test match at the National Stadium in Karachi. Riding on centuries from Usman Khawaja and fifties from Steve Smith and Alex Carey, the visitors declared at 556/9 while batting first. While Babar Azam’s men were expected to bounce back with the bat, the hosts got bundled out for just 148 runs.
As the Aussies declared at 97/2 in their second innings, Pakistan need to chase down 506 to win the contest, a task which looks far from possible as of now. It must be noted that this series marks Australia’s first assignment on Pakistan soil since 1998. Hence, spectators have come in large numbers to follow the proceedings. However, the local crowd won’t be pleased with Pakistan’s dismal show in Karachi.
Pat Cummins didn’t oblige to fan’s request
Meanwhile, a fan flaunted a hilarious poster, urging Aussie captain Pat Cummins to declare the innings. This happened when the visitors were batting in the first innings even after crossing the 450-run mark. Frustrated with Pakistan bowlers’ misery, a fan hilariously flaunted a poster which read: “Cummins Bhai! Please declare kardo (Cummins brother! Please declare the innings).”
Cummins read the poster and shaked his head 😂

The broadcaster then panned the camera on Cummins who shaked his head, seemingly in disagreement. The video went viral in no time as fans were left in splits. The Aussies eventually declared their first innings at 556/9 after batting for more than two days.
It must be noted that the opening game ended in a dull draw with only 14 wickets falling across five days in the Rawalpindi Test. The conditions seemed similarin Karachi as the Aussie batters enjoyed gala time while batting. However, the story was different when the hosts came out to bat.
The likes of Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins breathed fire with the red cherry, restricting the Aussies to a mediocre score. Now it will be interesting to see whether Pakistan can add any twist in the table of the visitors will walk away with a win.
