Pakistan announce ODI squad to play West Indies
Fast bowlers Sohail Khan, Rahat Ali, and leg-spinner Yasir Shah have been recalled to the ODI squad after having missed the T20I series. Sohail Tanvir, Saad Nasim, Rumman Raees and opening batsman Khalid Latif are the ones who have been left out of the ODIs.
The rest of the squad bears a similar look to the squad which played in the T20Is. There will be a change of leadership, however, as ODI skipper Azhar Ali returns to the scheme of things while T20 skipper Sarfraz Ahmed will play the role of his deputy. Asad Shafiq, who made a century when he last played for Pakistan in the fourth test against England, adds more strength to the top order.
The fast bowling department has been infused with variety. With Rahat Ali, Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Hasan Ali and Sohail Khan forming the attack, Azhar Ali has a great pool of fast bowlers to choose from. Yasir Shah will act as a perfect partner to the dangerous Imad Wasim and Mohammad Nawaz. The batting department also will also find more stability in the presence of Asad Shafiq.
Pakistan has already pocketed the T20 series after having beaten West Indies for the second time in the three-match series. After having beaten West Indies in the first game pretty comprehensively, Pakistan put up yet another inspiring performance to make the Windies taste the dirt by 16 runs in the 2nd match.
