Shortly after Sri Lankan captain, Dinesh Chandimal shocked the cricketing fraternity with his witchcraft claims which helped the Lankans overhaul Pakistan in the Test series, his counterpart Sarfraz Ahmed rubbished Chandimal’s revelation.
The spirited Pakistani captain instead claimed that it was their poor batting which helped Sri Lanka to win the Test series. Sarfraz stated that the Lankans would have won the ODI and T20I series as well had they used magic, which the men in green whitewashed.
“We lost the two Tests because of our poor batting and that is all. If they could win Test matches because of witchcraft or magic, then they should have also won the ODI and T20 series,” commented Sarfraz Ahmed according to NDTV.
Ahmed further went on to reveal that he is an ardent follower of the Holy Quran and also validated magic in the world but realistically blamed their batting for the loss in the Test series.
“I believe in the Holy Quran and also that there was magic in the world, but in the Test series we just batted badly and lost chances to win. Don’t mix cricket with such things. Pakistan’s planning was bad and they messed it up,” claimed the Pakistani captain.
Former President Rajapakse used witchcraft before elections
Earlier on Tuesday, October 31, shocking statements from the Sri Lankan captain came where he unveiled that he received a special blessing from a meyni, or sorcerer, ahead of the two-match series in the United Arab Emirates.
“I am always ready to accept the blessings of anyone — whether it is a meyni or any clergy. ou can have talent, but without this blessing, you can’t move forward,” said Dinesh Chandimal according to TOI.
Furthermore, Several Sri Lankan politicians, business leaders and sports stars put their faith in witchcraft or astrology.Former president Mahinda Rajapakse took the advice of his personal astrologer before calling an election two years ahead of schedule in January 2015, only to lose badly. Chandimal said the sorcerer he consulted was the mother of a friend, and he was willing to accept her blessings.
