The match between India and Pakistan always begins days before the actual match. For the past one month, all we could see on social media and news channels was the analysis of the much-awaited match. The players involved try to be as professional about the match as they can and more often than not, the tempers and tension are kept under control.
However, the fans on both sides have always had their opinions and thoughts to share as to who they think will win the match. The words spark and sometimes do get out of hand. One such incident happened when a Pakistan fan tried to take a dig at the Indian team and earned the ire of the fans of the Men in Blue.
Pakistan fan mocks Indian team
The Pakistan fan had this to say on the match on Sunday, “If Pakistan win today, I’ll fly to Mumbai and wave a Pakistani flag in front of Sachin’s house.” The comment invited the whole of Indian fans on twitter to go berserk.
If Pakistan win today, I'll fly to Mumbai and wave a Pakistani flag in front of Sachin's house #ct17 #IndvPak

It is not an unusual sight to see an exchange of words on Twitter but the Pakistan fan’s comment was not taken well by the Indian fans. They are one of the most loyal fans in the world and they won’t take any potshots aimed at their team in a light manner.
Pakistan have statistically had a better record when it comes to Champions Trophy while overall India has had the better record in all ICC matches. But statistics can only be relied upon to a certain degree. Time for talk will be over and all eyes will be on Edgbaston as the two teams take to the field for the much-awaited encounter. On a lighter note, guess nobody told the Pakistan fan there is no point in going to Sachin’s house as he is in Edgbaston watching the match.
