Pakistan fans seek ban on international cricket in India, tweet to the ICC
Though the situation was not escalated and the touring party moved to Hyderabad where they will play the final T20I of the series a lot of Pakistan fans were not impressed with how it was downplayed.
In an untoward incident, the bus carrying the Australian cricket team was attacked with a stone in Guwahati. The Aussies were making their way from the stadium to the team hotel rejoicing their win over Team India in the 2nd T20I at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium when the window pane was shattered leaving them all shocked.
Australian opener Aaron Finch shared the image of the incident on Twitter and wrote: “Pretty scary having a rock thrown through the team bus window on the way to the hotel!!” Soon after the Indian fans started to apologise to the cricketer and the entire team as this is not the kind of hospitality the cricket-crazy country is known for.
On his part, the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) president Himanta Biswa Sarma also apologized and ensured them that Assam in no way endorses such disgraceful behaviour from the people. “Our deep apology. People of Assam never endorse such behaviour. We will punish the guilty,” he wrote.
The authorities got into action as well with Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal and Sports Minister of India Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore also making statements and demanding action. Sonowal directed the DGP to get involved in the case and ensure those guilty were in the grabs soon.
The very next morning the cops caught two individuals in the case. “We have detained two persons regarding the incident at Gorchuk police station and we are carrying out further investigation,” Commissioner of Police Hiren Nath said.
