Pakistan to host Windies in November for T20I series
Pakistan has already hosted Sri Lanka and World XI recently.
Pakistan is all set to host Windies for a T20 International series comprising of three matches later this month. The reigning World T20 champions are loved all over the world and their presence in the country would make the atmosphere completely festive for the cricket fans in Pakistan. However, the series would mark as a huge one for Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as Windies will become the first full-member team to play a full series in their country.
The revival of international cricket continues at the home of the Men in Green after successfully hosting World XI and Sri Lanka in September and October respectively. Sarfraz Ahmed led side won the series against World XI side which was captained by Faf Du Plessis of South Africa. Also, they thumped Sri Lanka in the third and final T20 International of the series in Lahore at Gaddafi Stadium. However, it would not be easy for them to get past the World Champions in the shortest format of the game.
The tour has already confirmed by the PCB chief Najam Sethi who has been instrumental in bringing cricket back to Pakistan. The possibility of the tour was reported a couple of months ago when they hosted World XI in September. However, the schedule of the series will be announced in the coming week according to Business Recorder. There is also a possibility that PCB might arrange the matches at a different venue apart from Lahore.
Tour clashes with New Zealand games
Amidst all the developments of the T20I series in Pakistan, Windies is scheduled to tour New Zealand as well later this month. There is a stark possibility that the dates might clash with the Pakistan tour and if that happens then the Caribbean board is likely to send two different teams to both the countries. It would be interesting to see the squad which will travel Pakistan for three matches.
