Pakistani opener Ahmed Shehzad has landed himself in trouble again after he was fined for inappropriate behaviour during the ongoing Pakistan Cup. Shehzad, who is skippering the Balochistan side at the 50-overs domestic tournament, was fined for misbehaving with fellow team-mate Rizwan Hussain, during a match against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on April 30 in Faisalabad.
According to media reports, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa batting first set a target of 373 for Balochistan to victory. Shehzad started off well while chasing the target but was given run out on 72-run after a confusion with batsman Hussain at the other end. On this occasion, Shehzad misbehaved with Hussain using inappropriate language, on which the umpire complained to match referee.
Meanwhile, Pakistani fast bowler Usman Shinwari too found himself in a similar situation. Shinwari, playing for Federal Administered Tribal Areas took five wickets for 51 runs but during the match, the pacer misbehaved while dismissing a batman. Afterwards, he was fined to the tune of 50 percent of the match fee.
Ahmed Shehzad faces the wrath of Indian fans
Recently, Ahmed Shehzad had to face the wrath of Indian fans following his post on Twitter. It all started with Shahid Afridi’s tweet on the current violence in the Indian state Kashmir. Afridi had urged the UN to intervene in the civil violence and take stern actions against India. He had even termed Srinagar and the adjoining places as ‘Indian occupied Kashmir’.
While Afridi was at the receiving end of all hate tweets, Shehzad took to the micro-blogging site to extend his support to the former Pakistan skipper. This certainly did not go down too well with the Indian fans and the Indian cricketers also gave a mouthful response to the duo on Twitter.
Gautam Gambhir was the first one to slam Afridi among the popular names. Gambhir gave a serious mouthful response to shut him in some style. Soon, Suresh Raina came up with a tweet asking Afridi not to spread hate.
