Pakistan cricket is going through a rough patch due to their poor performance in fielding, bowling and batting. After losing back to back three T20I series along with an average performance in the 2019 World Cup, the whole team is being brought under the scanner. Now, it looks like the negligence that is being shown by the senior players is affecting the team’s performance and former cricketer Ramiz Raja looks in no cool to take it.
Fans looked pretty anxious and PCB as well with the way Pakistan performed in the mega event. This forced them to formulate some new appointments for the national team but it has resulted in more poor outcomes. After losing a series against Sri Lanka‘s second-tier team in the presence of star players what can go worse than that on their own soil.
Ramiz Raja opines over the unprofessional behaviour of the players
Earlier, there were reports that left-handed batsman Haris Sohail, pacer Wahab Riaz and all-rounder Imad Wasim have been prolonging their excuses list in order to skip their training and practice sessions. Ramiz Raja came out with lethal comments on such reports and wants Pakistan to get rid of such players. Raja added that some strong stance should be taken against them and if there is no change in their behavior, then they should be dropped them from the team. Also, these cricketers should not be allowed to take part in leagues
“Pakistan should get rid of those players that have issues following training, the authorities should not even allow such players to play [in] leagues because I believe that we should give points on fitness and discipline… and I believe that those players that do not care about following it should be dropped from the team, as we need to set an example,” Ramiz Raja said as quoted by Business Recorder.
He feels that Misbah-ul-Haq also lacks the training that is given to the seasoned coach. “The problem is Misbah has not undergone the training as a seasoned coach, just like we see in foreign coaches,” he added.
Pakistan’s upcoming assignment is to go on a tour to Australia in order to play 3 T20Is and 2 Tests starting on 3rd November 2019.
