Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza have been married ever since April 12, 2010. They have seen the test of times over the years being a cross-border couple, but haven’t allowed the difficult times to unnerve them. Yesterday, they gave birth to their first son and named him Izhaan Mirza Malik. The boy weighs around 3.5 kgs and the name means obedience or submission (in God) in Arabic.
Following the delightful news, wishes have poured in for the Indian tennis star and the Pakistani all-round cricketer. Even Malik couldn’t hold on to his emotions and ecstasy. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Excited to announce: Its a boy, and my girl is doing great and keeping strong as usual #Alhumdulilah. Thank you for the wishes and Duas, we are humbled #BabyMirzaMalik,”
Recently, Sarfraz Ahmed, the Pakistani captain, also wished them, though the wish came late. He replied to Malik’s tweet and wrote, “MAshallah bohot bohot mubarak ho ap dono ko @realshoaibmalik bhai :),”

Another series for Sarfraz
Sarfraz has turned out to be one of the most successful Pakistani captains, especially in T20Is. In the 20-overs format, the Men in Green has won 10 successive series, the latest one coming against Australia where they whitewashed their opponents 3-0. They will now be locking horns with New Zealand in another three-match T20I series, which gets underway today at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Pakistan are the number one ranked T20I side in the world and would be keen to carry on with their rich vein of form against Kane Williamson’s Black Caps. In the meantime, Malik is also set to join the national team and his commitment towards the sport and country have been greeted with accolades from the supporters. He previously played a couple of T20Is against the Aussies as well.
