Pakistan will be touring Scotland in June 2018 for a couple of Twenty20 Internationals shortly after the completion of their 2-match Test series in England. The Grange, Edinburgh will be hosting the Asian team for the T20I series a couple of days after the one-off One-Day International between Scotland and England.

Pakistan are scheduled to face the English team in a Test series which will initiate the home season for England. The Men in Green will be taking on the English side in the Lord’s Test starting from May 24 and in the 2nd Test at the Leeds which is scheduled to start from June 1st. After the completion of the Test series on 5th June, Scotland faces England in an ODI on June 10th and Pakistan in the two T20Is on 12th and 13th respectively.

The two teams have faced each other in three ODIs and a T20I while two other ODIs scheduled were abandoned due to rain. The only T20I between the two teams was the inaugural World T20 in 2007 which the Pakistan won by 51 runs.

“To have the opportunity to take on a hugely talented Pakistan team at home in two T20Is is wonderful news for both the players and our supporters.” said the Scotland captain Kyle Coetzer. “With these matches taking place in the same week that we host England in an ODI in Edinburgh it gives us a great chance to show how far we have come as a group in both of these formats of the game.” Coetzer was quoted saying to the Cricketscotland.com.

We want to test ourselves against the world’s best: Coetzer

The Scotland captain Coetzer is excited to take on the two strong full member nations after defeating Zimbabwe in an ODI and Sri Lanka in a warm-up game recently. Pakistan won the recently concluded Champions Trophy while England have turned out to be a team to defeat in limited-overs cricket in the recent past.

“It also means that having defeated Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka this year we have another great chance to take some more full member scalps. As a squad, we want to test ourselves against the world’s best and in Pakistan and England we have two of the current top sides in the world coming to Scotland next summer. Along with the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier taking place in 2018 the year is really starting to look like an exciting one for everyone involved in Scottish cricket.” said Kyle Coetzer.
