Australia are set to face Pakistan in the UAE for the first time in four years that too in the absence of their star batting duo Steve Smith and David Warner. In the absence of some of their key pacers, the visitors will be fielding in with some new faces. The Pakistan camp could also be seen handing a few debuts as they are looking for proper replacements for the retired duo of Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan. they will also use the series as an audition for a new pacer having dropped Mohammad Amir on recent form.
All the approaching milestones for the players ahead of the Pakistan-Australia Test series:
42 – Mohammad Abbas has bagged 42 wickets in his eight-match Test career. If the pacer claims eight wickets in the next match, he will become the joint quickest to complete 50 Test wickets. Leg-spinner Yasir Shah also took nine Tests to complete 50 Test wickets.
98 – Number of wickets Michael Neser has taken in first-class cricket thus far. The all-rounder needs two more wickets to complete 100 FC wickets and three more for reaching 200 wickets across all formats in his professional cricket (98 FC, 49 List A and 50 T20).
2914 – Runs Ashton Agar has scored in his professional career thus far. The left-handed needs 86 more runs to complete 3000 runs in his career. New batsman Marnus Labuschagne is also 125 away from completing 3000 professional cricket runs having scored 2875 runs before.
2936 – Usman Khawaja has scored 2936 runs in International cricket thus far and is only 64 runs away from reaching the 3000-run milestone. His 2226 out of 2936 runs have come in the Test format itself.
3921 – Runs Mohammad Rizwan has scored in his first-class career. The Pakistan keeper-batsman needs 79 more runs to complete 4000 FC runs. He has scored these runs at an average of 42.16 with eight centuries.
4957 – Aaron Finch needs 43 more runs to complete 5000 runs in International cricket. Australia’s T20I skipper is yet to feature in a Test match.
7950 – Asad Shafiq requires 50 more runs to complete 8000 runs in first-class cricket. The middle-order batsman has scored 21 centuries in his 128-match FC career.
11969 – Runs Mohammad Hafeez amassed in his first-class career thus far. The all-rounder needs 31 more runs to complete 12000 FC runs and 135 more to complete 28000 runs in his professional career having scoring 27865 runs thus far. Hafeez could feature in a Test match for Pakistan for the first time in two years.
