All the major stats and numbers recorded during Australia’s third straight win in the series against Pakistan:
Australia continues their winning streak:
6 – For the first time since 2003/04, Australia won six consecutive ODI matches in Asia. They won six in a row during the 2003 Triangular series in India and then won the first ODI of the 5-match series against Sri Lanka at the start of 2004.
The last instance when the Aussies won six consecutive ODIs was in 2015 where they won nine ODIs in a row. Australia won each of their last six CWC game and the first three ODIs played after the ICC event.
Finch misses a rare achievement:
0 – Number of Australians who have registered a hat-trick of centuries in the ODI format. Aaron Finch fell short of the milestone as he got out for 90 in the 3rd game after scoring 116 and 153* in the first two ODIs. Earlier this month, Usman Khawaja had scores of 104, 91 and 100 during the last three ODIs of the 5-match series against India.
Finch continues his record series:
359 – Aaron Finch’s 359 runs in this series are the 3rd most across the first three matches of an ODI series for any player. Virat Kohli scored 404 runs from first three games during the last year’s home ODI series against Windies while Babar Azam aggregated 360 runs during the 3-match ODI series against the Windies in 2016.
359 – The 359 runs aggregated by Finch in his previous three ODIs are the most for an Australian across three ODI innings. He bettered David Warner’s tally of 344 runs during the 2017 home ODI series also against Pakistan.
Adam Zampa records his best:
4/43 – Adam Zampa registered his maiden 4-wicket haul in ODI cricket. This is also the first 4-fer by a leg-spinner in ODIs for Australia since Shane Warne’s 4/48 against the Windies during the 2001 MCG ODI.
Overall, Zampa is only the 3rd leg-spinner to claim an ODI 4-wicket haul for Australia. Shane Warne has 13 such hauls while Stuart MacGill had figures of 4/19 against Pakistan during the 2000 Sydney ODI.
Tough time continues for the Pakistan bowlers:
1 – No Pakistan bowler claimed more than one wicket in their previous four ODI matches. This is the first instance for Pakistan where none of their players picked more than one wicket in four consecutive ODIs. During 1998, none of the Pakistan bowlers took multiple wickets for three consecutive ODI matches; the previous longest such streak for Pakistan.
