Pakistan vs New Zealand: Rashid Khan lauds Yasir Shah for his sensational spell in Dubai
Yasir picked a total of 10 wickets on the day.
Yasir Shah lit up the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Monday in the ongoing second Test match against New Zealand. He ended up with the magical figures of 8/41 as the Kiwis capitulated from being comfortable at 50/0 to 90/10 in less than 15 overs. The leggie was almost unplayable and even though the surface was responding to his variations, the credit has to go to Yasir for the way he didn’t let the batsmen off the hook at any stage. Even Rashid Khan was thrilled to watch the spell and didn’t forget to laud him.
Many had earlier felt that Pakistan’s slow batting might cost them this Test match as well. They batted for a massive 167 overs and could only score 418 runs for the loss of five wickets before declaring. Haris Sohail and Babar Azam slammed centuries to tire down the opposition bowlers and the strategy of batting slow seems to have worked in Pakistan’s favour. The pitch has also crumbled considerably and the ball is viciously turning to keep the batsmen on their toes.

Meanwhile, Rashid Khan is also in the same country but in Sharjah where the T10 League is currently in progress. He was happy for the leggie and felt honoured to have witnessed such a wonderful spell and hailed Yasir Shah for the same. “Congratulations @Shah64Y 8-41 absolutely pleasure to watch him wish you more success ahead,” Rashid wrote in his tweet.

Meanwhile, Pakistan enforced a follow-on on New Zealand in the second Test and the visitors have put up a better resistance in their second attempt. However, Yasir has continued to shine as he picked the only two wickets to fall to make it 10 scalps in a day. It will be interesting to see how he fares on the fourth day with the 22 yards likely to support even more.
