Pakistan vs West Indies, T20I Series: Combined XI
The Pakistan team won the first, second and final T20I to lift the series at 3-1
Sunil Narine
This wily off-spinner demonstrated why he’s the most travelled player across the globe and has played for every T20 league in the world. Narine not only bamboozled the Pakistani batsmen with his guile and skills but also explored his big hitting capabilities down the order.
He picked up four wickets during the course of the series with an impressive average of 7.18. Essentially, his role in the series was to apply brakes in the Pakistani innings.
Narine scored two important boundaries under pressure in the last over of the 2nd T20 which almost ensured a victory for the home team before Hasan Ali held his nerves and guided his team to victory
Shadab Khan
The latest sensation in Pakistan Cricket, Shadab Khan impressed one and all with his leg spinners. He was adjudged as the man of the man and the series due to his exploits with the ball. It was heartening to see an 18-year-old create havoc in the opposition’s camp throughout the series with his bag of tricks.
The West Indians had no clue whatsoever to tackle his guile with the ball in the first match where he conceded just 7 runs and claimed 3 important wickets. He turned the match in Pakistan’s favor single-handedly with 17 dot balls.
He replicated his domination in the second T20 as well while dismantling the opposition by taking four important wickets and conceding just 14 runs. In total, he picked up 10 wickets in four outings with an incredible average of 4.79.
Samuel Badree
Badree reminded one and all why he’s ranked amongst the Top 3 in the world in T20 Internationals this series. He was one of the most effective bowlers in the West Indies camp, who went on to take wickets in the powerplays consistently and draw the first blood every innings.
In total, he took 5 wickets in the series with an economy of 6.15 which is phenomenal in T20 cricket. Over the years, this leg spinner has proved to be an asset in any team he has played for.
