Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has revealed his prediction for the India-Pakistan rivalry in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 this year. Akhtar, who is currently part of the Asia Lions in the Legends League Cricket 2022 has been part of many India-Pakistan rivalries in the past and nobody has managed to break his fastest delivery record of 161.3 kmph so far.

The 46-year-old has also given some interesting opinions including the recent statement on Virat Kohli’s captaincy saga. Now he has opened up on the India-Pakistan clash scheduled to be played later this year at the iconic MCG in the T20 World Cup in Australia. He has predicted for Pakistan to beat the arch-rivals again. The Men in Green registered their first ever win over India in a World Cup fixture last year.

The Babar Azam-led side thumped Virat Kohli and his men by 10 wickets and also reached the semi-final of the mega event. Akhtar, meanwhile, is backing Pakistan to repeat the heroics again down under.

It’s normal for India to lose, says Shoaib Akhtar

While predicting Pakistan’s win over India in the T20 World Cup 2022, Shoaib Akhtar also noted that the Babar Azam led side is superior to the Indian side in the T20 format. He added that the media has been rising the pressure on India which has accounted for their downfall and was also very confident of the fact that it is common for them to lose.

“We will beat India again in Melbourne. Pakistan is a better side than India in T20 cricket.” Akhtar said according to Times Now. “It’s the Indian media that make unnecessary pressure on their team whenever we have the clash of both countries in cricket, it’s normal for India to lose,” he added

For a change, it will be Rohit Sharma leading India for the first time in a World cup fixture against Pakistan and it is expected to be a belter of a game as well. Virat Kohli stepped down from the T20I captaincy last year after the T20 World Cup 2021.
