Pakistani skipper Sarfraz Ahmed receives a BMW sports car

Within a span of a few weeks, the entire picture of Pakistani cricket has changed to an extent of 180°. The Men in Green lifted the Champions Trophy for the first time in the history. Before the start of the tournament, no one termed Pakistan as the favourites ahead of teams like England, Australia and India. In their very first match, Pakistan was subjected to a heavy defeat against their arch-rivals India.

From there on, what we have seen is no short of a miraculous overhaul. The half-dead soldiers of Pakistan rose again and this time with more strength. From the very next match began the rampage which ended only after defeating India in the finals. The architect behind this renovation work of the Pakistani team is their leader Sarfraz Ahmed. Sarfraz’s boys have done exactly what many teams from the country couldn’t do.

Hence, the champion skipper was showered with blessings and precious gifts after the homecoming of the team. Now, he has a precious commodity in his garage, something which he can boast of. The 30-year-old will now drive a BMW sports car. The BMW X1 sDrive18i was presented to him jointly by Dewan Motors and JS Bank at a ceremony held at Dewan Motors’ sales office in Karachi.

“Sarfraz is an exceptional cricketer and a tremendous inspiration for the entire nation. His leadership and performance throughout the Champions Trophy will last forever in our minds. The way he led our young cricket team in such a pressure tournament was remarkable. We hope that he continues to serve Pakistan and inspire our youth for years to come,” said JS Bank’s group head corporate and retail banking, Mr Kamran Jafar.
